Grand Ardèche Chardonnay 2019 by Louis Latour has been crowned the White Wine of the Year at the 2022 Sommeliers Choice Awards.
Grand Ardèche Chardonnay 2019 is made in the Coteaux de l'Ardèche region and falls under the French appellation of Indication Géographique Protégée Ardèche. It is a Northern Rhône White wine made using Chardonnay varietal. The vineyards are harvested mechanically, the grapes are then pressed. They are immediately transferred into oak barrels that are created by The Cooperage, one of Louis Latour’s wings that exports wine barrels around the world. The fermentation happens in medium-toasted French Oak barrels in a traditional manner. The wine is then aged for approximately 10 months.
